Digital Nomad Permit
Temporary residence permit (effective 21 November 2025) for remote workers employed by or self-employed for a business based outside Slovenia.

- Up to 1 year, non-extendable; may reapply 6 months after expiry

Requirements
- Proof of remote employment/self-employment for a business based outside Slovenia
- Monthly funds at least 2x the average monthly NET salary in Slovenia (formula per Official Gazette; no fixed EUR amount published)
- Health insurance, accommodation, valid passport
- No labour-market test (does not enter the Slovenian labour market)

Process Steps

Gather evidence
Assemble proof of remote work for a non-Slovenian business and bank statements/contracts meeting the income threshold (>= 2x average monthly net salary).

Apply
Apply at a Slovenian consulate abroad, or at any administrative unit if already legally resident. No labour-market test applies.

Receive permit
Permit valid up to 1 year, non-extendable. May reapply 6 months after expiry. Immediate family reunification with no waiting period.
