Citizenship is decided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and applied for at the local MUP office or a Serbian diplomatic/consular mission abroad. Routes include descent, birth on territory, ordinary naturalisation (3 years PR + renunciation of prior citizenship), naturalisation by marriage (3 years married + PR, statement only), and facilitated routes for emigrants/descendants and ethnic Serbs with no PR or renunciation requirement.
