Temporary Residence for Family Reunification
Residence for the spouse, dependent children, and dependent parents of a third-country residence-holder sponsor. Within the first 9 months, employment requires a separate work permit; afterwards no permit is needed.

Obtain registry documents
Obtain the marriage/birth certificate; for marriages abroad, secure a Slovak marriage certificate from the Special Registry Office in Bratislava (a translation alone is insufficient).

File the family-reunification application
File at a Slovak embassy abroad or the Foreign Police. Fee EUR 200 plus card fee. Processing 90 days.

Register and (if working early) obtain a work permit
Report to the Foreign Police within 3 working days; if seeking employment within the first 9 months, obtain a separate work permit. After 9 months no work permit is required.
