Work / Employment Residence (work permit + employment-purpose temporary residence)
Foreign nationals taking up employment in Kosovo must obtain two separate permits from two different ministries: (1) a temporary residence permit for employment purposes (€50 administrative tax) from the Ministry of Internal Affairs / DCAM, and (2) a work permit from the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare (MLSW), which carries a separate fee. Both applications typically run in parallel. Total combined cost to the applicant is approximately €150, but this covers two distinct administrative processes with two separate authorities.

- Certificate that the applicant is not under investigation, issued by home or last country of residence, translated into Albanian or Serbian
- Business-registration certificate and information about the employing business (or the NGO's Kosovo registration certificate)
- Proof of education/qualifications/training (original or notarised copy, translated)
- No entry ban to Kosovo
- Health insurance
- Vaccination proof if arriving from an epidemic-declared country

Assemble documents
Employer/foreigner gathers the contract, business-registration documents, qualifications, and translated no-investigation certificate.

Submit the employment-purpose temporary residence application online via eKosova and attend the DCAM appointment with originals and biometrics.
