Volunteer / Humanitarian Worker TRP
Foreign nationals participating in registered international or regional volunteer programmes in Ukraine may obtain a Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) for the duration of their volunteer engagement, up to 1 year renewable. The hosting organisation must be registered and listed on the official website of the Ministry of Social Policy. Grounded in Article 4(7) of the Law on the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons and Law on Volunteer Activity No. 3236-VI.

Requirements
- Valid foreign passport with D-type national visa
- Hosting organisation must be listed on the official Ministry of Social Policy website
- Written request / submission letter from the hosting volunteer organisation
- State registration certificate of the hosting organisation confirming its volunteer status
- Proof of lawful current stay in Ukraine
- Medical insurance covering the period of the requested TRP
- Proof of address / accommodation in Ukraine

Enter Ukraine on D-type national visa
Obtain a D-type national visa from a Ukrainian embassy or consulate. The visa application will require an invitation or request letter from the registered volunteer organisation in Ukraine.

Confirm hosting organisation is listed with the Ministry of Social Policy
Before applying for the TRP, verify that your hosting organisation is published on the official website of the Ministry of Social Policy (msp.gov.ua/for-business-and-organisations/volonterstvo). The organisation must notify the National Social Service (NSSU) within 5 working days of your engagement commencing.

Collect documents and submit TRP application
Submit all required documents to the territorial body of the State Migration Service (DMSU) or an accredited Administrative Services Centre at your place of residence. Applications must be submitted no later than 15 working days before your authorised stay expires.

Pay fees and await decision
Pay the total 1,140 UAH administrative fee (34 + 452 + 654 UAH). The DMSU issues the TRP within 15 working days from acceptance of documents.

Register place of residence
Upon receipt of the TRP, register your place of residence with the relevant registration authority. Failure to register is an administrative offence under Ukrainian law.

Renew annually if needed
Apply for TRP renewal no later than 15 working days before expiry. The hosting organisation must confirm the ongoing volunteer engagement and remain listed with the Ministry of Social Policy.
